Who We Are
We are a fit-out contracting organization that has worked with some of the most renowned corporate clients throughout the UAE since 2004. Our History
Part of the Barakat Group, originally founded by Antoine Barakat in Beirut in 1965 as a building contracting business, Northcorp was established in Dubai in 2004. Barakat Group now comprises of Barakat Contracting & Maintenance in Lebanon, Arkan Contracting in Jordan, MFM in Jordan and Northcorp in the UAE.
As a traditional contracting organization, we have grown from strength to strength over the years and offer clients a diverse array of services including joinery, carpentry, and glazing systems. We have successfully completed over 680 projects since 2004, where we have ensured quality, timeliness of delivery, and monetary value for each and every project.

Our management team consists of individuals who are qualified and experienced in their
particular fields.
All projects are staffed appropriately according to size and complexity, with a minimum of one project manager and one site supervisor even on the smallest sites.
The Group’s in-house joinery and MEP division allows us to retain direct control over quality, fabrication and installation.
For several years, the joinery division was the nominated supplier and installer of Group Standard Retail Furniture for HSBC Bank Middle East in Lebanon, Qatar, Algeria, Oman and the UAE; for the National Bank of Abu Dhabi; for MAF counters in the UAE; for Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank fixed furniture and for Standard Chartered Bank
fixed furniture.
Curriculum Vitae of Key Personnel
Having attained his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering in 1999, Elie joined his family’s business in Lebanon, Barakat Contracting & Maintenance. He worked alongside the Group CEO to successfully expand operations into Jordan. In 2004, they established Northcorp Contracting in Dubai with Elie taking on the role of Managing Director. He quickly secured corporate contracts with local and international clients, with repeat commissions becoming a key feature of the business.
Elie also established Northcorp LLC (Fit Out Contracting) in 2004, later adding Northcorp Industries to the Group in 2008, Northcorp Qatar in 2009 and Northcorp Iraq in 2014. Since 2004, he has grown the company to its current complement of over 150 managers, site operatives and other staff.
As well as his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Elie also holds an MBA.

Firas joined Northcorp Group in 2007. A qualified architect, he has brought his experience in architecture and interior fit out design and execution to the company, specializing particularly in bespoke projects for clients seeking signature designs and premium quality materials and finishing. Firas has accumulated a substantial portfolio of corporate designs, commercial offices, retail solutions and executive residences. He is an active member of several contemporary architectural groups.
Firas gained his Master’s Degree in Architecture from the Lebanese University. Before joining Northcorp, he acquired diverse experience in architectural and managerial roles in leading firms in Lebanon and UAE.
Hala has been in Northcorp since 2009. Her background roots back to public relations, sales & marketing and business development. She has successfully brokered opportunities for Northcorp with local and federal government departments as well as with a range of high-profile retail, banking and pharmaceutical clients.
In addition to her BA in Public Relations, Hala holds a Higher Diploma in Media. She maintains currency through undertaking a range of sales and marketing courses. Hala carries a pivotal role in representing clients and ensuring quality service is meeting the highest expectations. Hala has just completed her MBA degree.
Farooq joined NorthCorp in August 2008. He is responsible for a wide variety of internal and external controls, auditing, taxation, budgeting and working capital management, as well as devising strategic and financial planning for the company, including business planning and functional planning. He acts as the commercial liaison and coordinator with all stakeholders, overseeing legal operations and contract management. Farooq has accrued more than 11 years of experience in the industry, having previously worked in several internal, external, system, cost and project auditing positions in Pakistan.
Farooq is a member of renowned accounting and auditing associations, namely the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Accountant and Auditors Association (UAECA) and the Iinstitute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA). He holds a BSc Hon in applied accounting from Oxford Brooks University UK, and has completed an extensive number of reputable continuing professional development courses and programs.
Michel joined Northcorp Group in 2021. An astute architect, he brings a versatile experience in architecture and hands-on design development to the company. In addition, he is specialized in coordinating closely between the different aspects of a project from brief to completion. Michel has compiled a comprehensive background in multiple building types with an expertise in retail, residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
Michel graduated from the Lebanese University with a Master’s Degree in Architecture. He is a member of the Engineers & Architects Syndicate (OEA) and the Society of Engineers (SOE). He has been accredited with Trakhees for the Blue and White Code (Dubai Municipality).
Before joining Northcorp, he acquired an extensive and diverse experience in architectural design in prominent design firms in the region.
Araz joined Northcorp in 2022, she is an active member of the project team with an extensive experience in Medium & Large-scale of Residential, Commercial & Retail projects with a demonstrated history of working in Construction industry. She manages & supervises many projects, preserves until the desired result is achieved.
Araz holds a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering & Master’s degree in Business Administration. She is a member of the Society of Engineers (SOE) & Syrian Engineers Association (OSEA).
Before joining Northcorp, she held Project Engineer/Architect position in many companies in Syria, UAE, Oman & Bahrain.
Moayad has joined Northcorp in 2022 as Head of MEP Department; he holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Damascus University Syria 1996, and possess 25 years’ experience in implementation of major construction and Fit out projects in the UAE Moayad is handling the MEP department from the stage of Tendering, Design, Planning Procurements, Installation, Testing and commissioning arranging subcontractor’s agreement to the Handing over.
His involvement ranges from the conceptualization to the implementation of the projects as per guidelines provided by consultants and clients. As a team leader, he thrives to guide the engineer’s team and technicians through the day-to-day progress of the work, encouraging and motivating them to succeed in satisfactory completion of the projects within specified time schedules and maintaining all set of norms and standards stipulated by Authorities (DEWA, SEWA, FEWA, DCD, DM and Trakhees).
A key member of Northcorp’s technical team, Hala is involved in all areas of design. With extensive knowledge of solid state electrical control systems, she provides electrical design solutions, system modifications and technical assistance on all projects.
Complementing her BSc Hons in Electrical Engineering, Hala is an active member of the Society of Engineering (UAE), Sudanese Engineering Society and Sudanese Engineering Council. She previously held electrical engineering and installation inspection posts in Sudan and the UAE.
Cristina provides specific HSE requirements for projects, as well as managing the company’s facilities management and administrative functions, building working business relationships both within the firm and with external partners and clients. Since joining Northcorp in 2011, she has deployed her wide-ranging skills in business and office administration, human resources, purchasing, events management and travel coordination for business development purposes.
With a BSc degree in Industrial Engineering, Cristina’s educational background underpins her informed approach to working in Northcorp. She has previously held executive assistant, administrative and customer relations positions in Dubai and the Philippines.
Joby joined Northcorp in 2014, having worked on interior joinery fit out projects in India and the Middle East since the late 1990s. Competent at all project stages from concept tendering to completion, he has completed multiple large-scale interior joinery projects in the office and hotel sectors, as well as in the high-end residential market where he has overseen luxury finishes. Joby has contributed to major projects including the Ministry of Finance, Sharjah, Layia Oak Hotel, Dubai, Luxury Villas at Emirates Hills, Palm Jumeirah and Arabian Ranches, Dubai.
Joby has a Diploma in Electrical Engineering as well as a supplementary vocational training qualification in AutoCAD.
By joining Northcorp in July 2015, Sonai Muthu had brought with him more than 15 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering. He worked extensively on a diverse range of MEP projects in his home country India, and then shifted in 2006 to collaborate with the most prominent MEP contractors in Dubai as a Senior Project Engineer.
Sonai is involved in the MEP design, specializing in HVAC design. He works with a dedicated team for Northcorp projects, by providing estimations, programming projects, and managing site execution as per project programs.
Holder of a Degree in Mechanical engineering, Sonai expanded his knowledge by getting HVAC design certificate (KHDA Approved), and by taking part in a vocational training in ENOC Safety Training and First Aid international certification. He is an active member of the Society of Engineers (UAE).
As a key member of Northcorp’s technical team, Raji is involved in all areas of design, providing mechanical design solutions and technical assistance on all projects.
Raji holds a BSc Hons in Electronic Engineering and has held the post of Draughtsman in several Dubai based companies.
Nithin has been with Northcorp since 2016 Nithin supervises the delivery of a wide range of projects, working closely with the production team. This includes providing joinery and upholstery drawings, 3D and Isometric views.
Nithin previously occupied the post of Joinery Draughtsman in India and Dubai. He holds an Interior Design diploma.
Having worked in Residential, Commercial & Industrial projects in UAE & India, Shahbaz brough with him more than 11 years of experience in Electrical Engineering when he joined Northcorp in September 2021.
He worked extensively on a diverse range of MEP projects in his home country India and then joined forces in 2015 with prominent MEP contractors in Dubai as a Project Engineer. He is involved in design, estimations, project execution for Northcorp projects.
Holder of a professional degree in Electrical Engineering and MBA in operation & HR and an active member in society of engineers, Shahbaz has contributed to major projects including Burj Daman Hotel, Luxury Villas in Kempinski Hotel & Penthouse in Fairmount hotel Dubai.
